Hopefully this is not duplicating what has already been posted elsewhere, but since I haven't run into it yet I think that it would be good to start working on a clear list of demands.
In Jorg's original video he gave the following reasonable demands:
1. Bring back monetization for smaller channels 2. Nor more strikes, removals or bans by bots 3. Censors, come out of your hiding ( open up direct communication between creators and the humans at the censorship department ) 4. Remove demonitization as a whole 5. Treat all creators equal! No more "Preffereds" 6. Define clear guides lines WITH examples
I think those are all reasonable and absolutely needed. However I think that we need to add a few more.
I additionally propose:
7. STOP the DCMA abuse! It's completely out of control! ---------------------------------------------------------------- It's not just about the A.I. Currently all it takes to get one of your videos shut down is for some company ( like Nintendo for example ) to claim that one of your video game reviews violates their I.P. even though it is CLEARLY with in the boundaries of fair use. The problem is that YouTube doesn't care. They just shut the video down every time someone complains. Yeah, you can appeal it and maybe get it back, but by the time you do you've already lost most of the income from it because it is no longer new and relevant
It's clear DCMA abuse. It needs to STOP!
8. "Protected mode" ---------------------- I'm not 100% sure about this one, but the new mode that they created not long ago that I'm calling "protected mode" could also be a serious problem. It's basically an automated mode that censors which of your videos can be viewed. The mode is human activated. The idea was basically to make it so that schools will only show "safe" videos. Here is the problem: who is the one that determines what is safe? It's just another form of censorship and traffic shaping.
This PROBABLY needs to stop!

Thanks. I added this to the FAQ with a link.
To others: please post your suggestions below and please give a brief explanation to each point you make. We will collate them all later on.

I would add youtube stop bringing down the strikes/bans/demonetization first and asking questions later. I'm sure we all know a channel that has been hit by let's be polite and call them questionable claims. These can be devastating and are very often abused. An example is the MSgt Porkins channel I enjoy. He was hit with a dubious claim from Alex Mauer over the FireWatch game. It killed his momentum for months and just when recovery was happening he got hit for saying what Logan Paul did was unacceptable.
The other is to stop taking sides or be honest that they are. It got quite heated on facebook with PC/SJW vs Anti PC/SJW. I did what one person can to say we are not here to debate the social/political/economic issues of our times we are here to ask youtube to stop taking a side and using demonetization/bans to enforce it. Just ask Demolition Ranch or any channel that deals with firearms entertainment they get hit like a punching bag at a public gym.

Let's ignore its inherent issues. It should not be possible for an Egyptian person to take down a russian video based on an American Law. That really needs to stop. Protected mode is something that we NEED as more often children are using the platform. In its current form though it does not do its job.

This thread should be pinned to the top of the General Discussions. That way its the first thing people see. This should be the most active thread, I think.

Don't think it really needs pinning That's all well and good but I think the thread used for clarifying and ironing out what it is we are working towards should be at the top anyway, if only because it should be considered the most important thread. You can easily access this thread using links elsewhere but it's a difficult to find just searching the actual site. I didn't even see this thread until I read a completely different one in General Discussion that linked here.

I can only realistically see the following getting sorted out. 2. Nor more strikes, removals or bans by bots 3. Censors, come out of your hiding ( open up direct communication between creators and the humans at the censorship department ) 4. Remove demonitization as a whole

I think we should focus on things that are easy first, things that we are more likely to succeed. It will bring more people to our cause where a lloss will scare people away.
I think the easiest thing to ask for, because I don't see why youtube would say no, is to have a clear reason given whenever a video is removed or demonetized. It is easy to implement and if they do want less controverssial videos on the platform surely helping people learn what they consider controversial is actually going to help.
Things like no strikes/bans by bots and no demonetization is something we should definately work towards but I see those meeting more resistance from youtube because they are harder to implement and may not aligh with Youtubes agenda

Like reviewing new channels which cross the requirements 4000 watch hours and 1000 subsribers. There are thousands of channels still waiting since November 2017. Check out this threadCould Jorg ask about this issue at the upcoming meeting with YT representative?

While it's NOT possible for youtube to avoid DMCA law applying to them as written..... it WOULD be possible for youtube to have terms of service involving HEAVY, STATUTORY, ADDITIVE FINES for INTENTIONAL MISUSES of DMCA takedowns (plus legal fees at a certain minimum hourly rate) that are in addition to any local laws applying.
This would give youtube the incentive to sue very bad actors for profit (or seize their income directly if it's a youtube creator VS youtbe creator thing) and keep the money, and youtube could automatically offer to the creator to sue on their behalf (using local laws when realistic to do so) on top and give the honest creators a percentage when the lawsuits are won.
This sort of measure also needs a commitment to go after some percentage of smaller violators in order to scare off SMALL bad actors that destroy several channels per year FOR FUN mostly because there is no real consequences for the troll; Even if only 1/1000 gets sued, the number of "just for fun because no consequences" trolls would go down FAST.

Hello,
I have come across many criminals operating on the YouTube platform. I am aware of one sex offender pedophile who is a convicted sex offender that refused to register as a sex offender when he was released from prison. This particular person was removed previously and is back on the platform and still is on the platform. The other types of criminals that operate on the platform that I have come to be aware of are ones that sell these fraudulent packages aimed at defrauding the United States federal government in ways that victim mise the people buying these fraudulent packages and put them in jeopardy and in some cases have even actually put them into prison. Make no mistake these people are part of an anarchist movement with different flavors or types or subgroups if you well aimed at doing domestic terrorism and many of the different groups have the potential to be the next Ruby Ridge.
One such person who still has yet a third channel on YouTube after having been banned by YouTube twice before committed cyber bullying against a person that is disabled. I reviewed YouTube‘s disgusting pathetic and non-functional reporting forms on their site and decided that they just do not work because they do not let third-party’s report that they witnessed cyber bullying or are third-party witnesses to criminal activity. being a smart person and liking to be cute so to speak I wanted a different option to go at YouTube contacting them through a more direct way and then they’re disgusting complaints process. I went ahead and I used Google against YouTube by doing a search for contact information for YouTube and Google search results provided me with the email address directly to YouTube‘s legal team.
I composed a very well worded email and provided full disclosure detailing the situation and providing links to the criminal activity for the person who’s channel I was trying to get removed and detailed to them that they themselves removed this documented criminal and I explained this man is a convicted criminal with a prison history for fraud and explain to them that they removed him twice before and that he was back in violation of their own band against him coming back to the platform. as expected YouTube‘s legal team lacked ethics and you manatee and refuse to do anything.
I have all of the emails still saved on my email account and would love to be able to put these emails into the hands of the people at the very top level of the YouTubers union. If anyone can help me do this I would appreciate it. Due to the fact that there is some discretion that needs to be provided because of the situation that I had to bring to YouTube I do not want to just simply put these emails into everyone’s hands I prefer and request to only put them into the hands of the people that are dealing directly with YouTube at the negotiating table because we need to get these criminals off YouTube permanently and I believe that this would be excellent leverage to use against YouTube because nobody wants to be exposed for having domestic terrorists, pedophiles, sex offenders and other criminals on their site nor would they wanted to come out in the mass news media nor would they wanted to be known by the United States Congress that is already going after these major tech Giants to chop them down to size. thank you for your time and attention in reviewing this I pray this information gets to the highest people in the Youtubers union and then I am contacted by them so that I may contribute the information I have.
Sincerely,
Wonder Woman Sincerely,
Wonder Woman
