Lior Leser of the Youtuber Law channel has started the process of a complaint with the United States Federal Trade Commission against Patreon and Paypal for collusion and anti-competitive practices. He's covered issues relating to our members before and seems to be generally supportive of us. In his video on the topic, Mr. Leser asked that the video be shared because he will need help with that process, hence this post.
An FTC complaint and investigation could realistically lead to Patreon and Paypal being given huge fines and being put under federal oversight to make sure they stop being so anti-competitive or even to the companies being broken up into smaller businesses for behaving like a monopoly. This is the action I took to restore one of my videos, I protested the copyright claim under fair use in the youtube forum and my video is now playable support.google.com/youtube/thread/10431365?hl=enMy video got banned for copyright violations but have legitimate counter claim 0 Replies 1 Upvote I have launched a counter claim and in law you are innocent until proven guilty. I allege youtube breaks basic human rights by preventing videos from showing whilst copyright is being determined. It favours copyright holders in a prejudicial way.
