Will they let us host our platform on Amazon S3? If we show them we have people and want to build they may just join us. Better than starting at zero. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk

If they do it they will have some kind of new or expanded video platform but it will not be through S3 I would think. Well not directly. Also there is very little chance they would even talk to us before they announce real plans to compete against Youtube. And we do not know if they are even really planning this.

If anyone can pull it off, it's going to be Bezos. Competition is always good and he describes himself as a libertarian which is great; BUT he did donate money to John 'roaming hands' Conyers. No real libertarian would vote democrat.

It's not about pulling it off from a technical stand point. The biggest difficulty is having viewership and that is extremely difficult to steer. There are several up and running Youtube replacements but people are not willing to explore other platforms.

Why does anyone get a Netflix account then?

I would have assumed the logistics of finding sponsors would have been the greatest hurdle.

If we had a store we could skip ads all together. Every channel is selling shirts at this point couldn't we just print shirts?

They can drive traffic from Amazon itself not to mention Twitch. But the big problem is why should Amazon spend the money to do it? The main reason it works for Google is because they purchased fiber long ago and have the biggest ad network already. www.wired.com/2009/10/youtube-bandwidth/ I know Amazon is happy to own a market without making a profit but can they do video on the scale of Youtube without it loosing vast amounts of money? And is the upside worth it?

If they're going to do anything about it, it will likely be for purposes such as video reviews or for their FBA sellers to use instead of Youtube.

It could easily be a version of their AI assistant that comes in a plastic tube

I agree there is a very good chance they will choose not to compete with Youtube directly. But they did buy Twitch for $970 Million and they did start a Netflix like service. So there is a chance they might decide to compete against Youtube head to head. And Youtube is already working directly against Amazon Twitch trying to take streamers away. Hopefully Amazon will decide to go directly against Youtube it would be great for creators.

If they are thinking about it I am sure they already have a large team planning it.

I'm not getting excited about this. The issues would be the exact same, if not worse.
