YouTube hypocrisy at its best. Here is a pasta knife video trending (a knife that is sharp enough and can pass metal detectors). No restrictions to the video, only because the channel is Japanese. Even the ads run on the video. The channels is about homemade weapons. I bet if Jorg made a paste knife video they would demonetize it, and never include it in trending, they would even say he is teaching terrorists how to smuggle a knife on a plane. These things are only a problem when the media gets involved and starts contacting Youtube and sponsors.

Weapons are "sensitive content", even the comment section of the video is referencing killing and murder, by the YouTube guidelines the video should not be monetizable, yet it is not only monetized, but also trending.

Many such videos APPEAR to be monetized, but are categorized as weapon related anyway so advertisers can exclude them. They still make money, but much less than before the adpocalypse.

The system is so confusing, I'm surprised YouTube still makes money at all

I don't understand why they can't run ads by a simple tag system?
