Thought you guys might like to see this. I did not see it posted any place else. He says he is glad to help the Youtubers Union. Not sure if any one in charge has talked to him after the video or not.
His basic thought as I understand it is that the Youtubers Union should remove most of its goals as not realistic. And that the Union should not worry about getting small Youtubers but only worry about getting the large Youtubers. He is probably right the more I think about it.

I'll put it on the next gaming session... If what you say is correct, my first thought is that this guy is what I like to call a 'hole in the bucket' man. In short, I can't fix the hole in the bucket unless I have a bucket without a hole in it. Bottom line is, getting the big guys would be great; but that's not going to happen unless they're dragged there by an undercurrent of popular support, predominantly the small guys and non creators.
As for the goals: If an even adherence to clear community guidelines and paying for products received is too hard for them, what good are they? Burn it down, see if I care. We'll get a worthy substitute in about 5 minutes.

We'll get a worthy substitute in about 5 minutes. Personally the more I think about it the more I think it could end up being a group of only large Youtubers. And this group will try and win the right for a better process at least for big Youtubers. I think this because it is easier to control the smaller group and work together. Youtube cares about them unlike the hordes of the rest of us. And they can ask for a more labor intensive process for just big channels that Youtube would never role out to all channels. I say this not because it helps me as a small timer but just because it is the most logical plan of action for those with the most to gain and loose. By the way I do not think this is any ones initial intent. I just think that it is the way things will end up.

Good to see someone else linked Lior Lesers video here.
If Jörg reads this, then please do take mr. Leser up on his offer of help. I've followed his channel for some time now since he started it and he always has a very keen insight into the legal aspects of the tech industry.
I think he could give some very professional and sound advice on how to move forward.

I think everyone should watch the first 15-20 minutes of this video. He makes several good points:
*Focus on the most achievable goals -Clear, concrete community guidelines -Transparency in decision making -Opportunity to defend oneself against attack *YouTube/Google cares about its money -They will always listen to advertisers over users. Don't fight that battle. -Revenue comes from relatively few top users. Get those users involved with issues that affect them

You honestly believe the big guys give a shit about how they are treating everyone else? They don't get their videos shut down, demonetized, censored and anything they do is shoveled onto the 'trending' heap of crap before they even know what's in it. They don't have problems they way we have problems, they have solutions that we don't.
Bottom line is, these people aren't motivated. They like the way things are because it restricts competition and funnels people into watching their corporate sponsored bullshit. Sure they talk the talk; but name one of these plastic muppets who has visibly and vocally joined the league and actually stuck their neck out for unselfish reasons.
For that reason I'd say ignore the big channels. If they want to join up, it has to come with a public statement of support, otherwise what good are they to us? We have real people here with real problems. We want real solutions, not some pretender, not some backdoor hedge.

I think it is very difficult for big channels to speak openly. they have a larger following but also things like contracts with sponsors to consider. They need to consider if supporting us would put them in breach of contract or some other legal bother. Turning money down is one thing to support a cause but opening yourself up to getting sued is not a good idea. I have no doubt that at least some of the big channels will join. I'm sure they will stay quiet for a while and then speak out publically later. I would expect a lot of the big guys will try and talk directly to Jörg before speaking publically too.
