I make mmorpg private servers, for myself, not open, for educational and fun pruposes only,to understand the code and also play games that are either closed or discontinued or ip blocked
as statement: If the server is profiting, it is certainly illegal. If the server is running stolen or leaked software, it is certainly illegal.(i use open source code,so im not violating this one) If the server is distributing client files, it is certainly illegal.(i did not make any public, all working on LAN ips,127.0.0.1 or 192.168.x.x)
Is it illegal to host / own / operate a private server for games that require a server of such? And why? Its "legal" as long as it doesnt make any profit nor distribute the client files,in LAN ips it breaks the EULA but doesnt harm the company income
then Can i monetize my videos or it ll be totally illegal?they were monetized before the massive takedown, since i only have 170 subs and 100 000 views(2000 minutes watched)
