I know that this post is unrelated to the general forum but it is an idea i have and would like to see other people's opinion on.
Changes to the voting system:
- Make everyone vote on ideas not people, let the names and faces be attached to ideas, not the other way around.
- No Parties based on a multitude of ideas, this makes compromising inside the party more difficult and reflects unsure about the ideas towards the other parties.
- Make the people who vote on the ideas also write a set number of ideas of their own. This has to be manditory!(i don’t know how many ideas would be asking too much since it is important to be taken very seriously for the other steps to have an effect)
- Make the seriousness and relevance of these ideas have an impact on the worth of the vote. (this has three main positive sides to it: first it shows what the people want out of their own and isn’t the same as picking out of a set number of ideas which sometimes are interpreted differently then how they are meant. Second is that it adds transparantie between the people running the country and the people in it. “it adds to the democracy of the country.” Third it is a way to see who is involved in voting to make the country a better place to be without biases on age, background or whatever and will possibly make people more willing to think about important decisions which don’t seem important otherwise since everyone is more involved into the outcome. “What does one vote matter?”, would sound more silly then it does with the current system.
Changes to counting the votes:
- Make actual people count these votes and the sincerity of the added ideas NOT BOTS! (we can see how that is working out.) Make them judge not the idea but the wording and thought behind the idea. E.g. ‘saying that you want everyone to earn as much as the CEO of google’ isn’t a well thought out idea.
Changes to the political parties and or hopeful outcomes of the other changes:
- Make a number of these ideas have their own following ‘parties’ based on the amount of people having similar ideas.
- Make the parties around a set number of people who each follow 1 main idea which will be that parties goal to achieve or look for compromises with the other ideas.
- Make the parties work together and not against each other to come to compromises. (listen to each other!)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a fresh idea i have and it is by no means complete. It is also not flawless so constructive criticism would be appreciated.
The reason i am writing this idea here is because i personally do not have a wide reach of opinions who would rate/criticise/talk about this idea and i thought there would be more people who are interested in it here.
Thanks for giving it a read and please share your opinion.
