I got some good news. 
I think the solution to YouTube monopoly and tyranny is already here and it's called Lbry.
What is Lbry, in vogue terms lbry is a protocol and it's a bit like decentralized YouTube, and a bit like p2p torrent idea combined with cryptocurrency idea.
Upon almost two weeks of testing, I see Lbry has real potential of becoming main YouTube competitor.
Many prominent Youtube channels already have their full mirrored version on the Lbry network (for example from the ones that I follow myself Thoughty2, NileRed, JakeTran...).
And more and more migrates because of the YouTube censorship, you might find more controversial channels that have been banned from Youtube, for whatever unjust reasons.
It's easy to create mirror of your YouTube channel, because lbry has this aspect already covered with the sync system -> lbry.com/youtube
In fact Lbry was created to provide an open environment with no censorship for everyone.
Another thing I like about the LBRY is that you are in charge of your earnings and promotion.
You don't pay LBRY to be more visible, you pay yourself... Yes, you heard it right. You can use the earned coins as revocable support of your own content. It stays in your own pocket.
Algorithms are controlled by the community naturally and by yourself, not by some 3rd party.
