For a while I've been saying YouTube is going to become like older classical media. A big part of what drew people to YouTube was it being different. My concern has been that as YouTube becomes more like the media that pushed people to YouTube the more it opens a door to it's own death as eventually someone else will create a platform that will do what YouTube did when it was new. If we get all our demands, it'll be a hard pill to swallow for YouTube. Depending on their attitude they'll either die or thrive, both outcomes are acceptable to me.

I hear they are planning to become an on demand provider and have tv channels upload shows. That will mean they have to conform to the same guidelines that make tv boring. Makes sense when you see what they now consider problematic
