Hi all,
So combined with the automated indexing of YouTube channels that goes on over on my hobby project - TubeFrog - I've also released a couple access points that anyone can utilise if required.
Firstly, anyone wishing to have their latest YouTube videos and live-streams featured on the TubeFrog homepage, may add their YouTube Channel ID to the manual index / user channels page - tubefrog.com/?p=manual_index
Next, as many of you are already aware - YouTube makes it super easy to embed any YouTube video in to an external website / blog / forums etc, however, they have gone to some effort to revoke this access when it comes to embedding a YouTube channel in to the same. To this end, TubeFrog provides an embed-able version of any YouTube channel, consisting of the channel's latest 20 videos, any current live chat / live streams, links to the YouTube page / uploaded videos playlist, current channel description, current channel image, and the channel's stats as provided by YouTube. Further, TubeFrog calculates the channels "Creator Level" based on these stats and ranks the channel in the top list.
The page also provides the embed code to embed the generated YouTube Channel page anywhere else as well.
To use this script, all one has to do is append any YouTube Channel ID (something like UCeFqMpyL3g_adGBtDi8vKbQ), to the following link - where it says "id=".
tubefrog.com/u/?id=UCeFqMpyL3g_adGBtDi8vKbQ
(my poor lowly level 3, what I lack in size, I make up for in technique... honest!)
And most recently, as can be observed via my signature below - and in the title of this thread! I've mini-fied the script and created an image generator out of it!
This basically works as the above system, whereby a user simply appends a YouTube Channel ID to the link, and TubeFrog generates the content, however, this has far greater reach, as it comes packed in to a handy .jpeg file!
By having the channel information on an image, this not only provides the current channel information as provided by YouTube when it's loaded - it's a static image link, and thus there is no need to ever update it.
If you update your Channel Thumbnail, Channel Description or Channel Name on YouTube, the image will reflect these changes (usually within about 5 minutes as the API goes), further, each time it's loaded, the latest stats are retrieved.
And all this on an image file - which can be embedded in to forums, on discords, blogs, pretty much anywhere. Or just as a forums signature works fine too! Who has the higher level!
On most forums etc with BBCodes, simply wrap the following link like an image, within the image tags, on here, just use it with the image button and it works just fine!
tubefrog.com/u/sig.php?id=UCeFqMpyL3g_adGBtDi8vKbQ
Some examples for your consideration:
JoergSprave -
BigMonMulgrew -
StevenCrowder -
PewDiePie -
Styxhexenhammer666 -
Stefan Molyneux -
You get the idea!
I thought this may come in handy for a forums such as this, with such a heavy YouTube user base.
Please let me know what you think, or any suggestions.
Thanks all.
