I believe that it is dead in the water for a few very simple reasons:
#1. In terms of tactics ( because lets face it, this is a war ) our position is terrible and not likely to ever succeed.
We are operating in occupied enemy territory where: A. They control everything B. They Have all of the force C. They Have all of the resources D. They Can eliminate every last one of us literally anytime they want E. There is nothing that we can do to change or effect the situation directly
We are basically walking up to their front lines with sticks and rocks and demanding that they be nice to us and treat us fairly. How do you think that is going to end!?
If this were a physical war, no one in their right mind would waste time, energy, resources and lives fighting it because it's un-winnable.
There is only one solution that will ever work. We need to fall back to territory that we control and that the enemy does not.
The most realistic way for this to happen if for us to create our own platform.
#2. As much as I ( and probably everyone else here ) hates YouTube / Google's blatant censorship and attacks against freedom of speech, the bottom line is, it's their company / property / service. They own it, we don't. They can do what they want with it. They are not a Government service or public utility. The only way that this will ever change is:
A. Enough people sue them successfully to make them change their minds. However even this won't last. I guarantee that this problem will come back in the future as soon as the sting of the lawsuits wear off.
B. If the U.S. Government recognizes them as a public utility and takes them over ( which would then force a much stricter adherence to the U.S. Constitution ).
#3. There is an alternative solution that would work and solve every problem that we have while at the same time making the World a better place:
A. We create our own decentralized platform
Ultimately this is the only thing that will ever work. We can either do it ourselves now, or we can wait for someone else to do it. But if we don't do it, we won't control it ( and by control I mean create a system that can't be easily controlled, shut down or censored ).
It will take a lot of planning and work to put it together, but if designed correctly it could eliminate this problem from ever happening to anyone ever again
