Famous YouTube music producer TheFatRat (3.2m subs) has started a campaign for basic producer copyright arbitration rights. Following a spurious and transparently false copyright claim, YouTube diverted all ad revenue from his 47 million view music video to a mystery claimant with no real recourse. YouTube then claims that “they do not mediate copyright disputes” while refusing to produce any contact/personal information beyond a gmail address registered by the claimant.
I feel there is significant overlap between the concerns of the Youtubers Union and this campaign and would encourage people to consider joining forces.
