Hey all! I'm new to YouTubers Union and FairTube ... well... I've been registered on FairTube for a while but I wasn't engaging in discussion there because I'd stopped using Facebook for ... well over a year, I know it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. Anyway... I discovered YouTubers Union today and thought I'd drop a note about this. It's a kind of involved story, so I made a video that is premiering tomorrow.
Here's a short Twitter thread that links to the premiere and also includes my communication with YouTube that lead up to this. Long story short, never delete a video from YouTube, because in addition to many, many, many, many, many bogus strikes (including multiple bogus strikes on the same video), YouTube also strikes DELETED videos, and if you previously deleted a video, they will
a) not let you appeal the probably bogus strike and
b) not tell you anything at all about the strike, not even the name of the video in question.
EDIT: they'll tell you the category of the strike, which is useless without knowing even what video it's on -- the point is that they're claiming ToS violation but providing no evidence of it
Thanks, Sam
