The alt-right want free speech and liberty, we want traditional values and the preservation of national culture. This movement is fertile ground for us since it protects and promotes free speech and political discourse. The issue of a union is extra-national and our goals are aligned with yours. Personally speaking I'm be more than happy to work with ANY group to achieve this goal. With that said, I would be very careful putting too much trust in my left-wing counterparts, they have a history of censorship, de-platforming, obstruction and violence. This thread was created specifically for the purpose of marginalizing conservatives and so just hours after the creation of this board, the seeds have been planted and the subversion has already begun. Both left and right wing accuse each other of the same stuff. No one fits the traditional definitions of left and right any more. Most of you would usually find you have more in common if you were less worried about being left or right. When people ask me which way I lean I tell them forward. We are not left creators and right creators, we are just creators.

When you're done leaning forward, you might want to look back at history and see what happens when unions lose their vision of providing 'equality of opportunity' and are led down to garden path to 'equality of outcome'. I was watching a documentary the other day 'Waiting for superman'. It pretty-much blames the abysmal education system in America on the teacher's union. Good teachers aren't incentivized and bad ones aren't fired. The situation is so sad, they have a lottery to see which lucky kids are able to go into schools that aren't under union control. Maybe 10% get in, the rest are almost assured a bad education and no prospects of higher learning. It was started with the best intentions, but this is the way unions invariably go, we must recognize it in order to fight it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hh6uHUx728The lemon dance (not to be confused with the lemon party )

lol I appreciate your point on forcing the equality issue. Its an amusing video, if not a little frustrating.
I really think we should distance ourselves from politics as much as possible. The terms left and right get their definition changed so much they are only useful for bashing someone for being left or right.

This thread was created specifically for the purpose of marginalizing conservatives and so just hours after the creation of this board, the seeds have been planted and the subversion has already begun. Of course, both extremes of both sides of the aisle are participating. If you want to put these two groups together without things catching fire, then focus on the goals and put the rest aside. To that end, you don't need to trust anyone. If I can put it in language you'll appreciate, the U.S. Constitution is brilliant because it sets in place an system of checks and balances. As long as everyone plays by the rules, it doesn't matter who is in office, or whether you trust them - the system ties everyone's hands enough that no one can do anything on their own. It's worked for 200+ years, even in spite of some of the most corrupt politicians the world has ever seen. What we have here is far simpler. The system is to agree upon goals, and work to achieve them. One of those goals is transparency and clear-cut community guidelines from YouTube, which is advantageous for anyone who fears censorship. As long as the goals/demands are clear and are moving forward, trust is irrelevant. Be a credit to your conservative friends - lock arms with people you don't always like, and bite your tongue even when it hurts. There are progressives here that I'm sure are willing to do the same.

TLDR of the above - put it all aside. If you don't want the Union to lose its vision, just participate.
Actually, can one of the Mods please move this thread to the Off-Topic subforum? It doesn't belong in the General Discussion.
